The Herosite Origin Story
20+ years in the making
Circa 2002
Back in 2002, a tall, friendly Canadian named Clarke (yes, that's his real name, but no, his last name isn't Kent) started a company building websites for a still-fresh frontier called the Internet. This was a time before Facebook, before YouTube, and way before the iPhone. The dot-com crash had just rattled the world, and people were still on the fence about whether a website was an actual business necessity.
By November 2003, with dozens of successful website launches under his belt, Clarke noticed a pattern. The major stalling point for nearly every single project was always the same: Content.
People were brilliant at running their businesses, but they struggled to write about them.
Clarke had a vision for a platform called Herosite. The premise was simple: a business owner would answer a few straightforward questions, and an automated website builder would automatically generate their website content. Just like that, the biggest bottleneck in web development would be shattered.
There was just one problem. In 2004, trying to build a system that could generate unique, high-quality content for every type of business was a technical challenge without a clear solution. After months of picking the project up, putting it down, and puzzling over the code, Clarke reluctantly shelved the idea in the "too-hard" basket.
The evolution of the web
Years came and went, and the internet matured rapidly. Clarke watched as massive website-building competitors entered the industry. They poured millions of dollars into marketing beautiful templates, advanced technical features, and drag-and-drop tools.
Yet every no-code website builder ignored the real missing piece of the puzzle. They gave business owners the canvas, but still left them staring at a blank page, struggling to find the words to describe what they do.
Dusting off the blueprint
Fast forward to the era of Artificial Intelligence. While AI content tools are suddenly everywhere, Clarke noticed that nobody was truly integrating them into a simple, guided, interview-style experience for everyday entrepreneurs.
He went into his storage room, dusted off the original 2004 business plan for Herosite, and started digging through old USB drives and CD-ROMs. He even recovered the original brand artwork drawn for the project by veteran Disney animator Don Boone (whom I'm forever grateful to, I still absolutely love our mascot!), and started wondering:
Does the technology finally exist to make this 20+-year-old dream a reality?
By day, Clarke still runs his web and software company. But fueled by a fire in his belly (and supported by a very understanding wife), he began pulling double duty. Spending countless early mornings, late nights, and weekends coding, the platform you see today was finally born.
Our 20+ year north star
Our core mission hasn't changed since 2003. Herosite is an AI website builder and logo generator designed to take you from a blank page to a live business in a single day.
We've combined an intuitive, interview-style content tool with an AI Logo Generator so you can firm up your branding and start being recognized. Think of it as your business's personal digital superhero.
Is Herosite Right for You?
We have witnessed too many busy entrepreneurs sign up for a 30-day trial with a traditional website builder, get overwhelmed by hundreds of complex design tools, and let the trial expire without ever launching a single page. Staring at a blank screen while trying to learn a new technology is exhausting.
We reversed the model.
Instead of giving you a tool and telling you to build a site, we just ask you questions about what you already know best: your business. While you talk to our mascot, our backend is quietly doing all the heavy lifting, building your code, and setting up your servers in the background.
- What we are NOT: If you want to spend hours tweaking CSS viewports, managing hundreds of plug-ins, or pixel-pushing complex templates, Herosite is not for you.
- What we ARE: If you want to bypass the learning curve, answer a few simple questions, and walk away with a 100% complete, fully written, live website in less than two hours, we made this exactly for you.
